September 11 - 20, 2009
DAY 1 This
morning we're off into Wisconsin, stopping for an included coffee and roll break.
Then we'll continue across Wisconsin and Illinois to our overnight in South Bend,
IN. Tonight we'll enjoy an included Welcome Dinner.

DAY 2 After our included breakfast, well
continue driving east across Ohio. We'll make a morning break, lunch stop (on your
own), and an afternoon break on the way to West Virginia and the city of Wheeling. Upon
arrival we'll visit the West Virginia Independence Hall Museum, where you'll journey back
to 1863 when West Virginia was born during the American Civil War. West
Virginia's separation from Virginia was the only change in territory resulting from the
Civil War. Later we'll check into our hotel for the night.

DAY 3 We'll enjoy
an included breakfast, then continue east through the beautiful West Virginia Mountains to
Winchester, Virginia, the city is where Patsy Cline was born and is buried. You'll
see the radio station where she got her start, and the drug store she worked in.
Later, we'll arrive in Front Royal and drive the beautiful Skyline Drive through
Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Mountains. This afternoon we'll arrive
in Charlottesville and check into our hotel for the night.

DAY 4 An included breakfast starts our day, then
we'll tour Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home, before we enjoy a true colonial experience
-- an included lunch at the historic 1700's Michie Tavern. This afternoon we'll
continue east to Richmond for a guided tour including Capital Square, Richmond National
Battlefield Park and St. John's Episcopal Church, where Patrick Henry gave his famous
speech "Give me Liberty or give me Death." After we check into our hotel
for the next two nights, you'll be free to relax and have dinner on your own.
 
DAY 5 This
morning we'll continue our tour of Colonial America as we visit Historic Jamestown, the
first permanent English-speaking settlement in North America. Nex we'll visit Yorktown
Battlefield and Visitors Center to see and hear the story of where Amercan Independence
was won during the American Revolutionary War. We'll then head to Colonial Williamsburg
for a guided tour of this living history community. We'll have time following the
tour to browse the shops and have lunch (on your own). Later we'll return to our
hotel and after time to refresh we'll enjoy a special included dinner.
DAY 6 This morning we're off to Washington D.C.
for a guided tour. Highlights include Embassy Row, the National Cathedral and
several of the monuments, memorials and museums. You'll have time to enjoy lunch on
your own during the tour. We'll check into our hotel, then you'll have time to
refresh and have dinner on your own before we enjoy a guided illumination tour of our
nation's capital.
DAY 7 Following
included breakfast we'll enjoy a tour of this wonderful community located directly on 26
miles of white sand beach. The afternoon and evening will be free to enjoy the beach, the
many shops along the beach or just relax. The evening will be free to have dinner on your
own.
DAY 8 We'll
enjoy an included breakfast, then head back
west across Virginia. This afternoon we'll cross the Appalachian Mountains back into
West Virginia and travel through the beautiful Allegheny Mountains to our overnight in
Charleston, WV.

DAY 9 An included breakfast starts our day, then we're off
north into Ohio. We'll make a morning break, a lunch stop (on your own) and an
afternoon break as we cross Ohio and Indiana to our overnight in Champaign, IL. This
evening well enjoy an included farewell dinner.

DAY 10 Well
enjoy an included breakfast, then head north through Illinois and across Wisconsin, making
appropriate break stops. We'll arrive back in the Twin Cities late this afternoon, and
long remember the beauty and history of the Virginias.
