10 days: 
October 12 - 21, 2009

DAY 1  This morning we’ll be transferred to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport for our flight to New York City.  After claiming our luggage, we’ll board our motorcoach, make a lunch stop (on your own), and then enjoy a guided tour of the "Big Apple."  We'll see and hear about the sights we’ve always heard about:  Chinatown, the Financial, Garment and Theatre Districts, Rockefeller Center, and a view of "Ground Zero."  Later we’ll check into our hotel for our 2-night stay, and have time to refresh prior to our included welcome dinner.


DAY 2  After our included breakfast, we’ll board the ferry to Liberty Island, then continue on to Ellis Island National Monument, now a memorial to the millions of immigrants who came through Ellis on their way to their new homeland. Dinner will be on your own in the Theater District, prior to taking our seats for our Broadway show (to be announced).

DAY 3  We'll enjoy an included breakfast as our luggage is loaded on the coach.  We'll then head south, stopping for a break en-route to Philadelphia, where we'll visit Independence Square. You’ll have plenty of time to take in Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and the Visitors Center, and to have lunch on your own.  Then we'll take a guided tour to learn more about this great city.  After we check into our hotel for the night, you'll be free to have dinner on your own.


DAY 4  An included breakfast starts our day, then we'll continue south to our nation's capital.  Our first stop will be to tour Mount Vernon, George Washington’s home, where you'll have time to explore the home and grounds.  We'll visit Arlington National Cemetery on our way to our hotel for the next three nights. 


DAY 5  We’ll enjoy our included breakfast, then we'll pick up our guide for a full-day tour of Washington D.C. including the various National Monuments, Embassy Row, the National Cathedral, and more.  Late this afternoon we'll stop for dinner (on your own), followed by our guided evening illumination tour.

DAY 6  Following included breakfast, the day will be free to explore the various Smithsonian Museums.  The motorcoach will make scheduled shuttles between the hotel and the Smithsonian so you will be able to rest if you like.  We'll return to the hotel late this afternoon for time to relax before our included dinner.


DAY 7  Following our included breakfast, we'll travel to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for a guided tour of the Pennsylvania Dutch-Amish Country.  During our tour we'll enjoy an all-you-can-eat Penn-Dutch luncheon.  Then we'll check into our hotel with the evening free to relax and have dinner on your own.

DAY 9  This morning after our included breakfast, we'll head west across Indiana, making a morning break and lunch stop (on your own).  Later this afternoon, we'll arrive in the Chicago area for our overnight. This evening we’ll enjoy an included farewell dinner. 


DAY 10  We’ll enjoy an included breakfast as our luggage is loaded on the coach, then head north through Illinois and across Wisconsin, making appropriate break stops. We'll arrive back in the Twin Cities late this afternoon, and long remember this wonderful trip to the "Big Apple" and our nation's capital.
