DAY 1:  We’ll start our wonderful Southwest tour this morning with an included morning break. Our travels take us South across Iowa, where we’ll stop in Des Moines for lunch (on your own). This afternoon we’ll pass through Kansas City en-route to our overnight in Topeka, Kansas. After time to refresh we’ll enjoy our included Welcome Dinner.


DAY 2:  Following our included breakfast we’ll head across Kansas, stopping to visit the “Cathedral of the Plains.” Late this afternoon we’ll arrive in Colorado Springs, Colorado and check into our hotel for the night. The evening will be free to relax and have dinner (on your own).


DAY 3:  After our included breakfast, we’ll head into the Rocky Mountains, and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. You’ll be amazed at the sheer walls of this spectacular canyon. Our drive this afternoon will be filled with wonderful mountain scenery as we travel through the San Juan Mountains and across the Million Dollar Highway through Durango and on west to our overnight in Cortez, CO. Upon arrival we’ll check into our hotel. 

DAY 4:  An included breakfast starts our day, then we’re off for a day of spectacular scenery. Our travels this morning will take us through the beautiful Monument Valley. You’ll see many red sandstone monoliths towering as high as 1,000 feet above the valley floor. We’ll then enter Arizona and stop to visit Canyon DeChelly. This National Monument is located on the Navajo Reservation and traces its inhabitants back to 2500 BC. The wonderful overlooks and sheer walls of this canyon will amaze you. We’ll then continue on to Flagstaff, AZ for our overnight.

DAY 5:  This morning following included breakfast at your leisure we'll travel south stopping at the Overlook of Oak Creek Canyon for some spectacular views prior to driving through the beautiful Canyon. Our destination is the colorful town of Sedona, upon arrival you'll have time to browse the many shops and have lunch on your own. The scenery around Sedona is some of the most beautiful you will ever see. Later we'll return to our hotel with the evening free to relax and have dinner on your own.


DAY 6:  We’ll head north to the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. We’ll make several picture stops and a break for lunch (on your own) in the park. We’ll then continue north to Page, Arizona, site of  Lake Powell and Glen Canyon. Later we’ll check into our hotel for the night.

DAY 7:  Following our included breakfast we’ll head into Utah to visit the town of Kanab, the site of many western movies. The remainder of the morning will be spent touring the grandfather of all Utah’s National Parks, Zion National Park. We’ll stop for lunch (on your own), then head north to Bryce Canyon National Park. We’ll then check into our hotel for the evening.


DAY 8:  The scenery today will again be unforgettable as we pass Escalante Canyon and drive through Capitol Reef National Park. This afternoon we’ll visit Arches National Park, then check into our hotel in Moab. This evening we'll enjoy included dinner, followed by the wonderful sound and light show "Canyonlands by Night" during a boat tour on the Colorado River.

 

DAY 9:  This morning following our included breakfast we’ll enter Colorado and stop at the Colorado National Monument for some wonderful views. Later we’ll cross the Rocky Mountains traveling through Gore and Glenwood Canyons and across Loveland Pass to our overnight in the Denver area.

DAY 10:  Following our included breakfast we’ll continue east into Nebraska and stop for lunch (on your own) at Ole’s Big Game Restaurant in Paxton. Later we’ll arrive in Kearney for our visit to the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument. The displays include the Trailblazers, wagon trail pioneers, Forty-Niners, Lincoln Highway and Interstate 80. Later we’ll check into our hotel in York and after time to refresh, we’ll enjoy our included Farewell Dinner. 


DAY 11:  Following breakfast (on your own) we’ll head into Iowa and our lunch stop (on your own) in Des Moines. We’ll make a break stop and arrive back in the Twin Cities early this evening, filled with wonderful memories of the spectacular scenery of the mountains, canyons and national parks of the Southwest.
